Today while ordering a bacon cheeseburger the US Olympic baseball team was on the television. I couldn’t help staring at the jerseys. They sure look like the “S” has been constructed out of bacon!

Spam versus bacn. How can you tell the difference? It’s easy. An e-mail offering you an incredible deal on Viagra is spam, since you (probably) didn’t solicit it. Bacn is e-mail you asked for, and eventually want to read. Below are some examples of bacn:

I know, I know. A whole month without a post? I’ve go so much going on at work and home that little time or energy is available for my many side projects. But I had some bacon over the weekend which reminded me to do some work here.

COOK WANTEO’S Chrispy Bacon

In the town near where I spent my summers at scout camp was a restaurant that some of the staff went to a few times a summer. They had one of those marquee signs that you can change the letters on and one day it said “COOK WANTEO.” It seems that they had run out of D’s and didn’t think we would notice. We were there for breakfast and on the menu was a side of “chrispy bacon.” I ordered it and so did Pat — one of my scouting idols. We joked about the spelling error through the meal and when leaving mentioned to the waitress to tell Wanteo that the bacon was nice and chrispy.

Somehow this has seemed much funnier for the past 20 years.

Crispy Bacon Frazzles

I have never heard of Frazzles before. But anything (well, almost anything) with bacon flavoring has got to be good. Crispy Bacon Frazzles as noticed via Sheeshoo’s Flickr photo below.

From a review… “an excellent bacon taste at first, then the corn chip flavor comes through. If Fritos ever came out with a Bacon flavor, then they would taste like these. My only regret is that the bag is too small.”

A company called Hotlix sells odd invertebrate foods like their line of cricket “candies” called Crickettes. They have a bacon and cheese flavored one that you can order for $1.95. I’ll pass on this one.

Fisher Price bacon

Fisher Price apparently had a “fun with food” set #2127 that included eggs (shells that opened and cooked versions) and bacon. It’s a older set (1987-1990) so some people are selling them for pretty steep prices but the bacon slices look really cool.
