Fisher Price bacon

May 8, 2008 6:16 pm

Fisher Price BaconFisher Price apparently had a “fun with food” set #2127 that included eggs (shells that opened and cooked versions) and bacon. It’s a older set (1987-1990) so some people are selling them for pretty steep prices but the bacon slices look really cool.

Note that it includes another depiction of my girlfriend and me.  Except for the artistic license of using pineapple.

THICK bacon!

April 18, 2008 4:02 pm

The Peter Luger Steakhouse has a slice of bacon so thick that it is served as an appetizer by the slice.  Check out the menu.  Michael Chu took a photo of one of the (what’s a good word that denotes a size bigger than a slice but smaller than a slab?) bacon.  Check out that thick bacon.

Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger

March 29, 2008 9:38 pm

While I Seattle I went to Jack in the Box and had one of their Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger. Interesting that they don’t call it an Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. They follow the baconaholic rule where any food with “bacon” in the name needs to start with that word. Think about it. Bacon Lettuce Tomato. Bacon cheeseburger. Bacon ice cream…

Investing in commodities

March 23, 2008 7:30 pm

With the most economic downturns the common practice for investors is to sink money into actual commodities. Things like gold, crude oil, and silver have tangible value. So perhaps as a bacon lover you can put your money where your mouth is. Or bring home the bacon, or some other cliche by investing in lean hogs or pork bellies.  Watch the commodities on this page.

Baconator sandwich worth stealing

March 20, 2008 7:16 pm

The Appleton, Wisconsin Post-Crescent reports…

Police early Wednesday investigated the theft of two Spicy Baconator sandwiches as a drive-though employee and customer attempted to make their exchange.Officers were called to Wendy’s, 3300 S. Oneida St., at about 1 a.m. According to police reports, a man grabbed the customer’s bag of food as the employee attempted to hand it from the drive-through window. The unknown man ran eastbound.

Police followed footprints in the snow, which ended in the 300 block of E. James Street, suggesting that the thief got into a vehicle.

The Wendy’s employee received a small scratch on his forearm during the incident, though he told police it wasn’t painful.
